COFFEE
This cannot be stressed enough! Without coffee, NO real programmer or web developer can ever function! Sure Tea is nice. It's relaxing and has so many varieties but a good cup of coffee... Yea!

Tony Iommi
So this one is far more personal. For inspiration, for support, for personal history and a lifetime of understanding, Tony Iommi has always been able to create the sounds which express everything from happiness, sadness, anger, confusion, euphoria, illusion and so much more. Credited as the father or even the godfather of Heavy Metal and Doom Metal, his near subsonic tones and deeply moving riffs will inspire the devil to dance!

MORE COFFEE
This cannot be stressed enough!

Dave Mustaine
More than a musician, truly. A poet, prophet, visionary or simply a guy who just sees things as they are. His words inspire in such a way that when you find yourself in the darkest of corners, you'll always find the power to grow beyond that darkness. With that said, his earlier works was the best but he felt he needed to excise his demons. But I digress.

Tom Araya
Sometimes when your brain gets so tied up with nonsense, it's hard to focus on code so you just need to let out a scream. Tom Araya has one of the best screams.

Tim Berners-Lee
So you all know who the Zuck-man is. Musk-man and even the Orange man. But what about the one man who changed the world by creating Hyper-Text Markup Language or even Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol? Do you use mobile apps? Of course you do! NONE of this would be possible without the absolute GENIUS of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the father, founder and creator of the World Wide Web!

Vint Cerf
This world has become smaller. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes it's a bad thing. It's not the fault of those who made it that way, but of those who misuse it. So let's not blame the Internet itself for the failures of people. Vint Cerf did not envision the crooks or fraudsters who troll about the Internet when he and Bob Kahn designed Transmission Control Protocol and Internetworking Protocol to build this incredible global network, they only wanted for everyone to be able to one day communicate more easily (or at least that's what I like to believe).

Marc Andreessen
So while Tim Berners-Lee created the protocol which now allows all this incredible connectivity over the "Inter-Webs", it would still seem like a simple black and white screen with just lines of words. Marc Andreessen is the first true "Egg Head" (really, take a look) who saw HTML and said "hmmm.... this would be cool if there were graphics". Did he really say that? Who knows, but still he created the first graphical web browser called Mosaic and because of that, we now have about a dozen (close to) web browsers and the Web as we know it now exists!

Nikola Tesla
After Ben Franklin affirmed his theories on electricity, after Michael Faraday proposed a relationship between electricity and magnetism discovering electromagnetic induction, even after James Clerk Maxwell discovered that electricity, magnetism and light are all fundemental manifestations of the electromagnetic field, there was a an engineer from Serbia who turned the world on its head. Nikola Tesla (from which Musk wrongly believes his vehicles should adopt their name from) looked at energy differently. Rather than harnessing it to create a single invention such as a lightbulb, more than turning steam into electricity, Tesla understood electricity as if he were counting his fingers and toes. According to Tesla himself, we have Macak to thank for his brilliant inventions which changed and shapes our world today!

Isaac Asimov
The godfather of truly scientific fiction, Isaac Asimov. A young boy who immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, taught himself to read at the age of 5 and later graduated High School at 15 to be accepted to college. His love of science fiction, his endless days at the library and his fascination of science as well as science fiction propelled him to be one of the big three science fiction writers of the 20th century with over 500 writings. his determination would inspire a a turtle to fly!

Michael Crichton
Dr. Crichton for some reason studied medicine at Harvard only to never practice medicine. Instead he chose to write and study more about science as he too was bitten by the same bug as Asimov. Creating real-world stories for the mind to absorb. Unlike Dr. Asimov, Michael realized a different aspect of science and the fictional stories that could be told. his writings seem like cautionary tales with wild adventures that break down the essense of human foolishness and denial when not understanding consequence. His application of real science and scientific theory in his stories are deeply mind-expanding and helps create new ways to view the world we live in.

Christopher Walken
All I can say is this man is out there. Watching any of his work makes you realize that a sense of humor is not about telling a joke but being the joke. Take for example the classic that everyone knows, More Cowbell. He took one of the most lame songs by Blue Oyster Cult and made it interesting.

Brendan Eich
While working at Netscape, one of the OG's of web browsers, Brendan created LiveScript. When Netscape partnered with Sun Microsystem it was later renamed to JavaScript as the syntax of the language resembled tha of Java but had the Object Orientation of Self (a prototype OOL). Since then JavaScript has evolved by leaps and bounds, not only for use in browsers but as a platform within an OS. Without his contributions to computer science, who knows where the web would be today (or if it would still exist).

New York State Field Band Conference
Why would this site exist if not for the efforts of the NYSFBC? Simply put, it would not! Since 1972 the NYSFBC brought schools across the great state of New York together in friendship and competition. The creativity and inspiration of the directors and staff make all of the hard work that every student puts in so worth it! These students create lifelong memories and friends not only from within their own school but schools across the state. Moreso, students are inspired to join more affiliates and expand their experiences regionally and nationally. Many themselves go on to become professional musicians, teachers and even band directors! It is without saying (but must be said) that if not for the NYSFBC, much of this would not be possible!
